Over the last week I have taken Mum for 2 scans and an x-ray ... so at least we know she isn't hollow! So far she has been diagnosed with mild Atrial Fibrilation and mild gall stones. The gall stones bit is actually good as 4 years ago they wanted to operate for major gall stones ... so I have focused on the positive for that. The echo that showed the heart problem was a few miles away, even though they live near a hospital - so that was weird. The person who did the test told Mum that she needed to go on asperin (which she already takes) and to see her doctor at some point.
So, not great news, but a lot, lot better than it could have been.
So with those and work I decided to take Friday afternoon off and meet up with Christine (my friend from Church whose mum has just died) and go for a walk.
So, yesterday Jiffy and I drove to her place, she got in the car ... and the heavens opened!
So we drove to a shopping area to let Jiffy have a walk and then put him in the car and went back to have tea and cakes! As we finished though, the weather cleared and we headed off to our original destination and had an hours walk. Any excuse to to take some photos!

Loved this idea - an ornament, telling you what type of tree it is

And glad the news about your mum wasn't too bad
Yes, basically not too bad about mum ... considering what it could have been.
That looks like a very hungry swan...!!
I love the OAK label.
LOL - that swan came right up to us, and Jiffy ignored it totally!
Yes, that OAK label is great. There are lots of squirrels around - so gives them a toy to play on!
Did Jiffy chase and bark at the swans and ducks? Our English Cocker would bark at swans when we took walks in the park in Germany. Once one came up on the bank and chased her. It was quite a shock to her and she came running back to us. LOL.
LOL - that swan came right up to us, and Jiffy ignored it totally! He ignored all the ducks, some of which were on the paths, but chased a pidgeon (as he does in the garden!) Yes, our first Cocker Spaniel, Perry, would have been a nightmare in that location, even on a lead!
Your friend looks so nice and smiley, and that swan picture is gorgeous.

Yes, Christine is a good friend - so nice to have an afternoon off with it.

I will admit I was pleased with that photo.
What a beautiful place,m even in this weather it's still lovely.
It was a nice late-afternoon walk in the end ... and after the rain, very few other people around.
So glad your mum's prognoses isn't too bad. Aspirin as a preventative is quite successful so that is good too.
I'd be happy to take some of that rain if you'd care to send it our way. We are so dry here that the comming summer and wildfire season are not looking too good!
*hugs*
Kathleen
Jiffy had such a fun hour - I don't think he stopped running at all.
More rain today - you are welcome to have as much as you want!
Glad to hear you mum is more or less okay.

It was lovely.
I do like the 'oak' hanging - what a neat idea.

We had a great walk.
&& those are really pretty pictures!
Thank you - it was a nice walk.
The tree ornaments are quite clever and creative. I really like the idea.
Beautiful pictures and sounds/looks like you had a great time for the most part. :)
