Even before the latest meme appeared on LJ I had already seen it on spuffy_noelle s LJ and asked for a letter.
1. Leave a comment to this post!
2. I will give you a letter.
3. Post the names of five fictional characters whose names begin with that letter, and your thoughts on each. The characters can be from books, movies, or TV shows
Sam Carter - Stargate SG1

I love Sam's character - She was a brainy girl who joined the Air Force to fit in with her father ... yet found a life above and beyond her wildest dreams.
My favourite thing was watching her grow and mature, and find herself. Her non-allowed "relationship" with her superior officer, Jack, was brilliantly portrayed, and never got old in the 8 series that it ran.
Chakotay - Star Trek Voyager
He was the rebel who became a valued 2nd in command. He learnt so much about himself ... and his ancestors. Again, I liked the relationship he had with his superior officer, and wished that he and Katheryn Janeway would have been able to work things out.
And, he's easy on the eye!
Craig Stirling - The Champions
A cult TV show of the late 60's of 3 people who were un-killable. Craig was one of my first "crushes" ... and, sad to say, I own the DVDs and still love them.
Cally - Blakes 7
As most of you know I love the BBC show Blakes 7 of a small group of rebelfighters who want to win back freedom from "The Federation". On The Liberator, Cally is the only alien ... a telepath. As a teen I was sure she and Avon had a "thing" going on ... now as I re-watch, I'm sure. She was a runaway from her own planet as she felt that the fight should be more positive ... and in doing that found herself alone. Then met up with the rest of the crew and showed how you can still be alone in a group - not always understood.
John Crighton - Farscape
The show was his story - an astronaught who was sucked through a wormhole into an alien world ... the chased after for the secret of how he did it.
A great show of Sci Fi escapism ... and a good story of an outside (John) learning to cope, live and love in this new world.
Charlemagne Bolivar - Andromeda
Come on, you didn't expect to not see James did you?
An alien who didn't really care what the others thought - yet when the ship was attacked did fight on the right side.
And - really, do I have to have a reason, other than the actor himself?
For Sam and Cally I see some of my own battles - that of feeling alone. I wish I could be strong like them ... maybe if I watch the shows enough, it will happen.
