Life is made up of snap-shots of memories, good and bad.
I suppose 2 of my special memories involve Jaykub and James!
The memory of actually having Jaykub as "mine" is very special to me. He one was very special boy. However I spoke about that on Day 8.
So, for those who don't know, I shall say about my first ever meeting with James.
I was a fan, having been stunned by seeing a 4 minute section of "Lies", and watching a bleached blond actor be incredible. I learnt about the internet to learn more about Spike, BtVS and James ... yes, in that order!
I bought the GotR CD, then James CD ... then heard he was coming to England again. I had chickened out 2 years previously, and then was devestated when he didn't come to England - so I bought a ticket to go to his Gig ... my first ever Gig! Then found out he was doing photos at Milton Keynes, so got organised to go up there, on my way home on the Saturday .... well, that's how I explained it to the family. In fact I just said it was a Sci Fi fair. I couldn't believe I was going ... couldn't believe I was that mad.
The Gig was amazing - I have no other word to describe it. When queuing outside I also discovered the love of James fandom.
Then the following morning (having not slept) I went to Milton Keynes, and spoke to him for the first time. I had an autograph, and as I queued I heard others speak, so I took a deap breath and complimented him on the concert. The smile he gave me was enough to collapse every cell in my body, not just my knees! I think the truly sensational thing I remember was that he actually answered me with a personal comment about the event ... not just the throw away "Thanks" .... to me, that both showed what a generous person he is, but that he was actually listening - For that 30seconds I was 100% in his focus.
I would tell you about the photo ... but I don't remember it! I went in, he shook my hand, smiled ... the next thing I knew I was outside again!
James continues to give me many amazing memories ... but that first one is still incredibly special.
