... In fact it was so warm that by the time we got back, I had to wait for him to cool down before he could have his rug back on and he could return to his field.
But - enough of the end ... where did we go?
Yet again it was with my friend, Toni and her horse, Smudge - and yet again was on a new route.
This time it was again through some woods - but a much longer steeper path down to a stream. Once there we let the horses pause - in theory so that they could drink, but all they ended up doing was seein who could blow the most bubbles!
On the return, we were able to canter some of the way - and I realised how much trust I do have in DJ - as I am not great with heights, he worked out that if he followed Smudge we would both be fine - and both have fun ... So that's what happened!
At the top we did pause for DJ to catch his breath - and to admire the view. DJ has a lovely winter coat (whilst Smudge is clipped) - so on a warm day, going uphill, he got quite hot!
Still it was a great ride - amazing scenery - and good company - both 2-legged as well as the 4-legged!
