Day 24 - Quote you use most often
The Longest Day is a film based on a book by Cornelius Ryan of the events of June 1944 - it was made in the 60's, in B&W and has an impressive cast list.
The quote both Mum and I use a lot was said by John Wayne, when sitting in a hanger in England, waiting to get the go-ahead ... One thing that the Allies couldn't arrange was the weather ... and the words he says are -
"Wind & Rain, Wind & Rain. That's all it seems to do here"
Yes, we live in England - so I quote that very often!
This clip doesn't contain the quote - but I put it in, both to show the film, but also to see The American Rangers at Point du Hoc ... why? Because these RL guys did their training in Bude ... on the cliffs here!
