Random Bible Thoughts.

Today is day 68, and I've now finished the Old Testament ... now into the New.  It has been good, and I'm still loving this 90 day challenge.  I found that reading the prophets meant a bit less at that pace, but reading the overall history books made the story of the Jews flow much more evenly.

As I wasn't on line on Monday I didn't get to share my Bible thought from Sunday ... at our 2nd service, the preacher read one of my favourite passages of The Bible.  He read it in the NIV, but here it is in The Living Bible -

"There is one ray of hope.  It is only the Lord's mercies that have kept us from complete destruction.
Great is His faithfulness, His loving kindness begins afresh every day.
My soul claims the Lord as my inheritance, therefore I will hope in Him.
The Lord is wonderfully good to those who wait for Him.
It is good to both hope and wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.

Lamentations 3 v 21 - 26

Lamentations, as the title suggests, is a very sad book, yet this section is right in the middle - a bright light in the middle of the gloom.

I also have a special belief on that last verse, even though it is not quite what was meant, I claim it on behalf of 2 very special people who I pray for every day ... that one day they will learn to love God, as much as I do.  When I feel sad about the way both their lives sometimes twist ... I think of that verse and have a positive focus again.
