There are a lot of beautiful words in the Bible, but just a thought on one of the most well-known passages - Psalm 23.
It is one of the verses that I often quote to myself, and friends, at times of stress -
"Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For you are with me."
Verse 4 is great - and a lovely reminder that God is there - but also a great reminder that a Valley may seem long, dark, and winding, yet there is always an end to it ... and often the view when you get to the end, is amazing.
Yesterday we finished our first service with a newer version of the hymn. I tend to be very traditional, yet as I sisng this more, I can say I do love it ... Have you heard this version, btw?
And, for those who prefer tradition, how about the original hymn, original setting, but filmed at the Menin Gate in Ypres (where they play the Last Post every night) ... Tim and Claire went there last year, and said that it is incredibly moving.
