bouncyWell, I have just heard back from the computer shop and they think they have tracked down my missing softwear ... so I can collect it tomorrow and try. So, all I can say is that I am still plugged in by wire - but at least everything elsis working well ... including my LJ-messenger which I hadn't been able to open for months.
