Mini Update
13th-Aug-2009 08:26 pm
Adventure before dementia

As mountainheather  has just asked thought i would do a mini update!

I went to the hospital today for Lung Function tests and an Echo-Cardiogram.

All I can say is after the breathing to order and the contortionist position for the scan I came out less healthy than I went in!!!

This is to finally see what caused me to stop breathing back in January - they obviously didn't agree with the rest of you that said it was getting ready to see James that caused an early attack of JamesFog!!!  Anyway, the chest guy siad things seemed OK, and the heart guy said that the was nothing exciting to talk about - Although both said they couldn't actually tell me!!  I see the specialist in 2 weeks - so will have to see, and hopefully will be the all-clear and it will have turned out to be a mystery virus.

Then iit was off to the dentist - although I had been about 8 months ago, I ended up needing 4 fillings today - fortunately they were in 3 teeth and all on the one side - so could be done with one injection (yes, I'm a coward!)

Then to top off my day - the osteopath.  I try to go every 6 months, and although there about 6 weeks ago, it had been a long gap before that, so got the 2nd appointment to make sure everything was settling.

Right - I'm off now for a soak in a hot bath ... and an early night!

Hope you all behave yourselves!!!!!!!!!!!

btw - I left my new default icon up - Hope you like it.

Doh. Don't you hate it how exam technician's aren't allowed to tell you anything?? Drives me nuts too!

Well at least they were positive about what they wouldn't tell me! Oh well - only 2 weeks to wait!

Hmm. It's good they didn't see anything but it would be nice to know what caused it. *hugs*

Yes - well either news in 2 weeks, or it will all get put down to that classic "it's a virus"

Hugs back - Thanks, Kal.

Medical stuff can get so confusing sometimes! There is something wrong but they can't figure it out, it must be very frustrating. Well, hopefully the specialist will be able to come up with something!

I hate the dentist. :( I am always scared because my teeth are sensitive and I don't have a very high pain tolerance.

That's what I told the dentist when she asked if I wanted an injection - I'm a coward!!!

Oh well, the specialist will either know what it is all about - or it will be put down to the classic "it's a virus"!!

Oh I hate it when they know what it wasn't but can't tell you what it was!! They did that to me back in 2001 in Newcastle!
Dentist *shudders* Yay for injection though, I hate it too.
Osteopath = so good! You mentioned being a contortionist for the scan machine so I guess it was good you went to the osteopath afterwards. ;) I go when I'm in France. *giggles*

I'm going to see my (hunky) osteopath this morning. Then he's off for 3 or 4 weeks, his girlfriend is having twins on Monday.

*hugs*

Hi - hugs!

Yes, well I only have 2 weeks to wait to see the specialist - so not too bad, really.

No excuse - the girlfriend having twins - no dedication to his patients - LOL ... Mind you, by the end of that 3 weeks he will probably be glad to get back to work for some rest!

Sneaking online at work to try and do a little bit of catching up on LJ.

That was one heck of a day (though good to get everything over and done with at once, I suppose). Annoying that the chest and heart people couldn't tell you anything specific, hopefully the specialist will confirm that there's nothing wrong. Mystery viruses are an annoying 'catch all' though, even if they are convenient diagnoses for the doctors. :D

I was sorry to read of your brother's swine flu diagnosis, but am glad to see he's on the mend. So far *crosses fingers and sanitises hands* we've stayed healthy.

*hugs*

Hi - hope that you, Chris and the girls had a good holiday.

They seemed pretty positive that everything was OK - at least I only have 2 weeks to wait for the specialist appointment.

Spoke to Tim this afternoon and, other than feeling bored, he is continuing to progress.

Hugs back.

Oh, btw, do you know if #12 has been read by James yet?

Oh, btw, do you know if #12 has been read by James yet?

There is no #12 as yet, 11 is the most recent, which I am just about to put onto CD for both you and me, as I'm nearly at the end of my #10 relisten in the car.

I think I need to send you one more (Proven Guilty and White Night were issued with Turn Coat) but I can't remember which one. Let me know?

They are planning on releasing the rest of the ones not yet out in November this year (Death Masks) and July next year (Blood Rites and Dead Beat). And of course the one I really, really want to listen to (Dead Beat) is the last one to be coming out. :D

Oh - huge thanks ... I'm a book out - It was Turn Coat I was thinking of ... I had just listened to White Night, and was about to see what had been read yet, as I know he is doing them out of order! Then I saw this comment, so thought it was easier to ask you!

I have the first 4 and Proven Guilty, and White Night - so you have kept me up to date - Huge thanks.

The funny thing was I was listening on Sun as I drove hom .... and ended up sitting in my car for 10 minutes to hear the end - hope the neighbours weren't watching!

I say it again - You are the best!

Mmmm - when they phoned me up for the appointments at the hospital, and realised it was 8 months ago I was ill, they suggested I didn't need them - but I thought an MOT was a good idea - better safe than sorry. I see the specialist in 2 weeks - but still bet they will put everything down to a virus!

BTW - Hope all is well with you.
