Remembering The Falklands.

Today is the 25th anniversary of the end of The Falklands Conflict and I suppose for most people it was "just another war".

However if you are British or Argentinian then 25 years ago it was an important step in our histories - and for over 1,000 families it is a never forgotten event in that their loved ones failed to return home.

I was in my third year of college when it happened - and at 21 it had an amazing impact.  I remember that when it started we didn't know how long it would go on and whether it would escalate.  Thus for myself and my friends at college we were at the right age to be immediately affected.  Fortuneately for me it was over within a few months, and no one I knew was involved.

For many there is a loss, there are permenently injured veterans and those who survived un-scathed carry their memories with them.

At this anniversary let us all take a minute to pray for peace and for the safety of those in the armed forces who are at present at war all over the world.

"They shall grow not old
As we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them,
Not the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun, and in the morning,
We will remember them.
