James - eyes

I saw this meme on dragonflylady77  s LJ and as ever had to snag -

A. Post ten of any pictures currently on your hard drive that you think are self-expressive.

B. NO CAPTIONS! It must be like we're speaking with images and we have to interpret your visual language just like we have to interpret your words.

C. They must ALREADY be on your hard drive -- no googling or flickr! They have to have been saved to your folders sometime in the past. They must be something you've saved there because it resonated with you for some reason.

D. You do NOT have to answer any questions about any of your pictures if you don't want to. You can make them as mysterious as you like. Or you can explain them away as much as you like.

I will post them in date order - and really sum up the last few years in some way or another. Hope that you enjoy, and if you want to know a why/what/where, then just ask -

Tell me about the giraffe :)

I adore giraffes - my favourite animal.

This was my Christmas pressie the year that Jaykub died - he died on 27th July, and for Christmas Toni bought me Portius. He used to sit on my bed at Mum and Dad's, but Jiffy used to kick him off, so now he sits on the floor in my room ... wearing the James Marsters necklace I bought in London this May!

Giraffes and James in one post... priceless.

I wonder if giraffes spook him like horses do :P

He needs to spend time with someone who owns a lot of giraffes ... now, let me think ... who could that be????

Great pics :) Where was this one taken?

That is Flint castle - we moved there when I was 3 months old (in this pic, Jiffy is 5 months old!) ... and lived there till I was 6, then back to Essex.

3 years ago we went there on holiday - for Mum and Dad to re-live memories, and for them to show me the area I lived in as a kid.

Lovely pics!
I love the giraffe (and the one of James too).
Pic 9 is last year on your holiday, isn't it?

Thanks - tried to sum up "me" over the last few years.

Well spotted - the pic was a holiday pic, except for the year before, as it was taken in Turkey, when we went over for a day from Kos (last year was Rhodes)

I am soooo behind in commenting! Predictably I'm going to ask about DJ - where was the show/ what class was it and what placing is the rosette?

Also why is there rope around the stable :D

Hi - good to catch up with you!

DJ was in Northlew Equine Show and was in an in-hand class for Mountain and Moreland in 2004 (aged 5). He came 5th out of 8 ... and is the only show he has been to. We have done in-house things when he was working at The Riding Stables though. Toni had hoped to get him to a local show this year - but Pete has had appendicitis, and the horse box needs some work - oh well, maybe next year!

The rope is around his stable as that was the secondary line when he had strangles. The original line had been another 3 feet out from that, at this point he is on the mend. No-one was allowed across that boundary without spraying, clothes etc ... and once across it, you didn't do anything else! The boxes on either side were kept un-entered as well - He had 44 days in that box, btw! But, didn't pass on the bugs! This was 4 months after the show he caught strangles - we eventually found out that, at his first Meet, someone was riding a horse that they knew had strangles ... Grr-argh!!!
