Poppy Wreath

11th November

Today at 11am just take two minutes to stand in silence.  To remember those who fought, those who died, those who wer wounded .... those who lost someone,. those who suffered.

But, also to remember those who still fight and die.

There are many who are still suffering the effects of war - and those who are still morning.

As the first world war started in 1914 the casualties were so high that Laurence Binyon went to a quiet spot on Cornish cliffs and wrote -

We must never forget them - otherwise their pain and sacrifice will have been in vain.


They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.
