Yet More Flowers

Sorry, friends, but I was out and about  with the camera over the weekend - just in Mum and Dad's garden.

It all started because I noticed the amazing palm trees when I arrived ... don't they look stunning?

Then I walked around the back garden trying to capture some of the June flowers ...

Calling A Computer Nerd ... Please Help!

I have LJ Messenger loaded on my pc .... and can get messenger to work with a separate window.  It loads OK on Mum and on Dad's pcs on the LJ web-page ... but here I get the following message ... which means absolutely nothing.

I tried contacting LJ but got no answers ... so, is there anyone who knows the way I can overcome this - or is it just a small glitch on my pc that I will live with?

And, so I continue with my Picture Meme that I snagged from hell0kittyangel ...

Day 10 — Someone you don’t talk to as much as you’d like to ... College

Day 11 — A Deceased person you wish you could talk to

I dearly loved my Mum's parents.  This picture was taken in the 30s ... when they were in their early 40s.  Granddad died in 1978 (Christmas day) and I wished I could have spoken to him more.  He served during the whole of the first world war ... and then living in the depression ... what an amazingly strong character.  My Grandmother died on her 90th birthday (just after my 21st) in 1982.  She was 11 when she moved to England, from Canada ... although her parents were actually English ... they moved every few years.  She lost her fiance at the beginning of the war, became a VAD and met Granddad at the end.  I remeber her better.

I just wish I could spend some time with them.

My Grandfather was ill by the time i was born, so although I was 14 when he died, we never spoke.  He had served in the Coldstream Guards in the 20s ... this picture was taken about then, when my Grandmother and he got engaged.  She worked in a bomb factory during the war (was a Canary!) ... and then was a chocolate packer.  She died in the early 90s ... but sadly was a very tough person, who did not want to tak of the past - and had no affection at all for any of us.  So, although I knew her ... I never got to chat.

I would love to speak to them all - although have the advantage of knowing that I shall see them again in Eternity.  Hense the icon - both of them became lay-preachers.

Day 16- A song that holds a lot of meaning to you

I grew up listening to the radio in the 60s ... Liverpool was the place to be!  I also love musicals ... so this song means a lot for those reasons.  However it also is a secular song that describes my faith in God.  So, hope that you enjoy You'll Never Walk Alone by Gerry & The Pacemakers

Wow now I'm even more stuck - a James song that means a lot to me - I suppose I shall end up with my favourite Bad - the first line talks of the photo ops that James does with us all - a brilliant few seconds and then it's over. In fact, I am usually in JamesFog, that I don't even remember it happened until I get the photo back - LOL

We met, we smiled
I put my arm around you
the camera flashed and it was over
my face was flush
