Quote - Bishop T.D. Jakes
"How can you say that God has me exactly where He wants me to be, when I have never felt this lonely, and I've never felt this sad, and I've never felt this depressed. And it is a shameful place, and it is a painful place, and it is a tearful place, and it is a breaking place. But I came to tell you that God's Strength is made perfect in weakness, and when this is all over, God is going to get some glory out of this..."
As I walked out to collect DJ today both he and Conrad came cantering across their field. After the cold and wet, they were both glad of someone to chat to.
DJ came in and straight into his box - and enjoyed a thorough grooming. I didn't plait him, as it was quite breezy today. However his mane was silver white - and very clean ... the rain had been very useful.
Toni rode Smudge and led Junior and we went to the Church and then on further, following the stream down toward the coast road before turning back.
It was dry out - but very humid, so there were laods of flies around, although fortuneately very few horse-flies ... so just annoying, but very few bites. We were out for almost 2 hours, so by the time we got back poor DJ was warm ... and Toni was over-sympathetic about how he hadn't been plaited ... so, yes I felt guilty!
When we got back, Ros was passing so came to say Hi. She is having problems with her youngster's training. All in all it doesn't sound as if she is at the correct yard ... but that is something Ros is going to have to decide herself.
Anyway, chatting to her gave DJ chance to cool down ... I had given him a sponge down already. So then I was able to feed him and take him back to his field - so he could get down and roll, of course.
Aw it's always nice when our animal friends are glad to see us. Of course, it has nothing to do with the carrot treat or the 'being waited on hand and foot'...
the rain brought the ants into my house, particularly my bedroom.
blech!
It's good that you weren't bitten by all the flies.
