Waving Farewell ... For A Week
2 1/2 years ago I booked a trip to go on another WWI tour - this one spending some time at Cambrai where the Deborah Tank is ... one of the survivors from the early tank battles.
Then came Covid, and more Covid ... so now, I am off very, very early on Monday and will be in Cambrai on Thursday. It's a 5 day trip, with 3 days actually sight-seeing ... and I and my camera, are looking forward to the trip.
So, now I need to sort and pack ... the weather forecast is lovely, but will pack a couple of extras in case it suddenly changes back again.. Then it's Sunday ... and then I am off.
So I will catch up ahead of time ...
7. Is there something that a ton of people are obsessed with but you just don't the point of?
Sorry, it's the boring answer ... but phones.
8. Would you rather give up all drinks except water, or give up eating anything that was cooked in an oven?
As I drink a lot of water that would be relatively easy ... although the tea withdrawel would not be "pretty"
9. What would happen if a maximum income of $500,000 (or equivalent in your currency) was implemented?
I think most people would cope if they just accepted it ... I have always earned such a tiny amount, large incomes are something out of my brain-thoughts.
10. If extra-terrestrials ever made first contact with us, would you prefer they be robotic or organic?
Organic - they should be able to relate easier with worry/pain/ etc
11. When was the last time you worked incredibly hard?
Short term, the last time I did some volunteer grave cleaning for the CWGC
Long term, the last time Mum, Dad & I did a big gardening project.
12. Do you know someone who really reminds you of a character in a TV show, movie or book?
I used to work with someone back in the early 80's called Dave who could have been a double for Walker in Dad's Army ... both in looks and character.
13. What is the most annoying thing about the social media platform you use most often?
Instagram seems to like to suggest pages I will like ... I know what I want to see already.
14. Do you have nicknames for people in your life (not including nicknames or code names that you might use on social media for privacy reasons)?
I call Claire "Clarnce" ... short for Clarence (Mum used to call her Clara), but I think she's the only one. I have a few people who call me by a childhood nickname ... and one friend I have now lost touch with, who always called me Debris ... thus my username.
Right that's me up to date ... and ahead.
