A Christmas Trip

Well I did say, after my depressing post yesterday, that I would post photos.

Christine and I went to Knightshayes Court on the Saturday before Christmas ... a lovely trip (although all my trips with her are always fun).  We had been a couple of years ago, but wanted to see it decorated for a Victorian Christmas.  Each room had a fact sheet about a specific detail about the celebration.

We also stayed so that we could see the lit grounds, and were not dissappointed at all

Apparently with themistletoe, when you steal a kiss you have to take one of the berries, and when they have all gone, then no more kissing!

Wonderful photos, as always. Thanks for sharing your visits to these grand houses.

I like small horses. So much easier to get on and off.

We are so lucky in Europe - so much to see, although sadly a lot of people just ignore what's around them.

Yes, I did like ponies. As I worked at the stables part time I had to ride other horses, but give me a pony nearer the ground ... the bump is less when you leave unexpectedly!!!!

It looks beautiful. Is that really a womble on the mantelpiece in the second picture or am I imagining things ?

LOL - we thought it was a womble when we saw it, but it is some form of bird ... so, sorry, you wouldn't get free entry if you gave your LJ name!

I am so glad that a few of my night photos came out as the colours were stunning.

A couple of years ago when we went the horse was in a field ... but nicer here where we could see his close up. Beautiful work.
