February Progresses Rapidly!
6th-Feb-2018 03:35 pm
Nothing much happening here - although I am meant to be cleaning the house, as I have all the family coming for Saturday lunch. But, as ever, procrastination is ruling!

I have decided to cross-post my writing scribbles to AO3. Mostly it is to hope that in re-visiting the work I will get inspired to start scribbling again. Mind you, I have mostly written Spuffy, and although I still love those I have been reading quite a few Stargate fics (I ship Jack/Sam). So really need to re-watch BtVS again.

Well onwards I must head ... so will do my February meme ...

February 6 - Do doctors make you nervous?

They had better not!! I worked as an osteopath for 28 years, running my own business; and now work as a nurse in a large hospital. I suppose most worry about the diagnosis. But I am a great believer in the faster you get an answer, the faster you can get results ... and hopefully the better the outcome.

We do get people who are scared - more than I realised.

Anyway as a final thought I snagged this from enigmaticblues:

The problem with LJ/DW: we all think we are so close, but really, we know nothing about each other. So I want you to ask me something you think you should know about me. Something that should be obvious, but you have no idea about. Ask away. Then post this in your journal and find out what people don't know about you.

I think you have shared quite a lot on Lj, but I’d like to know how far you have to travel to get to work :)

I actually timed myself today. 8 minutes walk from my front door to the actual hook I hang my coat on in the department!!!

Uphill on the way in, which means it's downhill coming home!

The trouble with being that close is I am often almost late, as I think I have plenty of time left!!

What got you into fandom first?

I have followed some series over the years - M*A*S*H, for example. But it was BtVS that really got me into fandom.

Well, I tell a lie; it was James.

I hadn't seen the series at all, because of the stotyline. However I had my friends girls staying with me for a week, and they watched it. So they had the TV on when I went into my lounge to ask if they wanted a cuppa ... to hear a London voice on TV. As I watched he morphed into a 19th century gent ... yes, I saw the last 1/2 of "Lies" from season 7. I enjoyed the acting, and watched the following week to see the actor.

I got drawn into the story, and bought the DVDs to catch up with the story (well Spike, anyway!). As I saw the last episode I was shocked ... and wrote my first ever alternate ending!

I was lucky that this all happened just as the internet was increasing so I was able to discover fan-fics ... and LJ.
