The Glover Elementary School in Milton, Massachusetts has a special tradition of providing sanctuary to nesting ducks inside the school's interior courtyard. Each time ducklings hatch the entire school helps guide them safely to a neighboring pond.

What a sweet tradition.

10 ducklings? I had no idea they had so many in one go!

I had a friend who kept Muscovy ducks, so was used to the idea of 8 - 12 ducklings.

I wonder if it's always the same duck.

I suppose it could be ... I know my friend's Muscovy's lived quite a long time.

Aw, that is so sweet! Those kids are learning such a great lesson in respect for animals. But I have to wonder what the ducks think of all that, lol.

Yes, it's good to see the children learning the true beauty of nature.

This brings back childhood memories! We sometimes had ducks nesting in our back garden, and then the mother and her ducklings had to be guided though the garage and across the street to reach the water opposite our house.

Together with cats, ducks were my favourite animals as a kid, mainly because I saw them every day as I was walking past the water to school.

Wow! My friend had geese, ducks and chickens so I have helped with them, but always on her grounds.

My favourite (other than dogs and horses are giraffes!!)
